RIDDLE — Two Riddle residents were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg after their pickup crashed Sunday.
A hospital spokeswoman said Paul Raymond Bowman, 46, was treated and released. Sarah Porter, 36, was in fair condition this morning at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Bowman called a friend about 12:05 a.m. saying he'd wrecked his pickup about five miles up Council Creek Road. The friend called 911.
When deputies arrived, Bowman's 1985 Toyota pickup was upside down in the middle of the road. The Riddle Rural Fire District responded and extricated Bowman, the driver, and passenger Porter.
Police allege Bowman was intoxicated. He was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants, recklessly endangering another and fourth-degree assault.
