<b>* CANYONVILLE PIONEER DAYS.</b> Cheerleading demonstrations, midway races and a quilt show are some of the many activities planned during Canyonville Pioneer Days today through Sunday. The event will run to 11 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The festival is in Pioneer Park. Other events include an old-time logging contest, a fiddling contest and a parade. 839-4452.



<b>* KOOL COASTAL NIGHTS.</b> Burning rubber, powerful engines and shiny chrome will all be featured in Kool Coastal Nights, a classic car show and shine taking place this weekend in Winchester Bay. The event will begin at 4 p.m. today with registration in Keel Park, followed by the open header contest and burn-out contest at 6 p.m. On Saturday, activities will run from 8 a.m. to after 8:30 p.m. Some of the highlights of this day include a poker walk, a parade of champions, a harbor cruise and a street dance. <b>* BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL.</b> Workshops and jam sessions will abound in Winston today through Sunday with the return of the Oregon State Bluegrass Festival. The event will run tonight, all day Saturday and until midafternoon on Sunday in Riverbend Park. Some groups scheduled to play include Train 145, Crossfire and Red Dirt Road. Tickets cost $10 for today and $12 for Saturday. Weekend passes cost $20 each, and donations are welcome from those who attend Sunday. <b>* OREGON COAST LAND LAB-EVOLUTION.</b> An ensemble specializing in swing and big band sound will take the stage in Reedsport today. The group, Oregon Coast Lab Band-Evolution, will perform at the Umpqua Discovery Center at 6:30 p.m. The free event marks the last Riverfront Rhythms concert of the season. (541) 271-4816.



<b>* INDIAN HERITAGE DAY.</b> Basketry, beadwork, drumming exhibitions and more will be featured during Indian Heritage Day in Yoncalla on Saturday. The event will take place at the Charles Applegate House off Eagle Valley Road, north of Yoncalla on Old Applegate Road. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A donation of $5 per car is requested. The festival will include a performance by the Indian theater group, Mother Earth's Children at 1 p.m. and a performance by acclaimed storyteller Robert Greygrass at 2 p.m. The event is being sponsored by the Applegate House Heritage Arts and Education and the Komemma Cultural Protection Association. 849-3500, 849-2983.



<b>* VINEYARD HOPPING.</b> Sipping wine and traversing vineyards are made possible this summer through the Summer Trolley Tour. The tour will take place Saturday and is hosted by the Seven Feathers Hotel & Casino Resort in Canyonville. A trolley travels from the hotel to Girardet Wine Cellars, Melrose Vineyards, Henry Estate Winery and Palotai Vineyard, where wines will be sampled. Lunch will be provided by Melrose Vineyards. <b>* DUCK RACE.</b> More than $29,000 in prizes will be given away during the Roseburg Rotary Foundation Duck Race for Children, a fund-raiser taking place Saturday in Roseburg's River Forks Park. The event will begin at noon and will include egg hunts, face painting, balloons, food and entertainment. About 10,000 rubber ducks will also race down the river, and the owners of the winning ducks could receive a car worth up to $20,000, a $2,000 family travel credit from Carlson Wagonlit Flyaway Travel and numerous other awards. Proceeds of the fund-raiser will benefit local organizations that focus on child abuse prevention. 677-2423.



<b>* DUELING PIANOS.</b> A tribute to two rock 'n' roll legends will take place in Canyonville Saturday with a Dueling Pianos performance. The event, which will begin at 8 p.m. at the Seven Feathers Hotel & Casino Resort, will highlight the works of Elton John and Billy Joel.
