Mickey A. Brundige

BRUNDIGE, Mickey A. — On Wednesday, February 16, 2005, after an 18-month bout with ovarian cancer, Mickey joined the heavenly ranks in the comfort of her loving family. She was born April 19, 1960, in Roseburg, Oregon, to George Langlois and Sandra (Rapp) Langlois. Mickey lived her life's entirety here in Roseburg, attending the local elementary schools and graduating from Roseburg High School in 1978. As a sophomore attending RHS Mickey caught the eye of the "mushroom man" a.k.a. Bert Brundige, whom she went on to court for several years before marrying in September of 1979. In the years to follow Bert and Mickey rejoiced in the arrival of their daughter, Tatum and son, Blair. As years past Mickey resided in Lookingglass where she raised her kids and worked in the family business. As her children grew older and became more active, she became their number one fan and supporter. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time outdoors. For those who knew Mickey, you could almost always find her on a summer day up the river with her dogs, family, and friends in that order. With Mickey there was never a dull moment. She always had a plan to cheer you up, whether it was a day of huckleberry picking or a float down the river. For those of you who have had the opportunity to know Mickey you haven't forgotten her because of the quick wit and straightforward approach to life she had. Mickey's personality made her an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, and friend. She had a special way of touching the lives of others and letting anyone know that they are just as wonderful as the next. As Mickey begins her walk alongside the Lord, she will continue to be a presence and a part of all of our lives. Preceding Mickey in death was her father-in-law, Frank Brundige, who she looked forward to reuniting with. These two drew strength and wisdom from each other and will be quite the "match made in heaven." Mickey is survived by her loving husband, Bert of Roseburg; her daughter, Tatum Stedman and her husband, Jason; son, Blair Brundige; her expectant grandchild, baby Stedman; her father, George Langlois, who was everything a father could be and then some, and his wife, Carol. Their generosity and care humbled Mickey throughout her battle with cancer. Her strong and endearing mother, Sandra Rapp Langlois; her sisters, Rochelle James and her husband, Stephen; Desi Bova and her husband, John; Shannon Price and her husband, Dennis; and Shelley Langlois. These five sisters were incredibly close and the word "sisters" doesn't really do their relationship justice. They each have a uniqueness that goes without saying. Numerous nieces and nephews, a tremendous family of in-laws, including mother-in-law, Midge Brundige, an incredible lady that held a special place in Mickey's

heart. Mickey's Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Jacoby Auditorium, located on College Road in Winchester, Oregon, just outside of Roseburg. The doors will open at 10:15 a.m. The celebration will begin promptly at 11 a.m. In Mickey's honor, contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Foundation at 439 N. Broadway, Portland, Oregon, 97227 or call 1-866-528-5236. Arrangements have been entrusted to Taylor's Family Chapel.
