Two contract firefighters were injured in a fire engine rollover this morning on Little River Road southeast of Glide. Ryan Rose and Joseph Smith, both of Twisp, Wash., were reported in good condition at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg after injuries received in the single-vehicle accident that occurred south of New Bridge Road. The firefighters with Washington state-based Smith Creek Engines had not yet reported to Tiller Complex fire managers at Milo. They were reportedly lost and looking for the base camp. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
