Coalition for Sexual Minority Youth meets</b>

The Coalition for Sexual Minority Youth meets at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the HIV Resource Center located at 832 N.W. Highland Street in Roseburg.

The group meets the first Wednesday of every month.

<b>Club Queer drop-in social time set Friday</b>

Club Queer meets from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at 832 N.W. Highland Street in Roseburg. This monthly youth drop-in event for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and their allies provides food, games and an opportunity to socialize in a safe space.

The event will be supervised by adults and is alcohol, drug and tobacco free.

<b>Job’s Daughters’ 50th anniversary celebrated</b>

Job's Daughters Bethel No. 53 of Winston-Dillard celebrated their 50th anniversary by giving a party for all members past and present. The celebration was May 14 at the Dillard-Winston United Methodist Church. There were 125 in attendance with Karen Mae West, their first Honored Queen, present.

A special ceremony honoring lifetime members was given. Katie Storie Honored Queen and Brittany Beckemeyer Grand Bethel Honored Queen presided. Appreciation goes out to everyone that made this day possible.

Job's Daughters is an organization for young women between the ages of 10 and 20 basing their membership on Masonic Heritage. It is not secret and is not a religion.

<b>Cancer Survivors Day program slated June 5</b>

Cancer Survivors Day is June 5. A celebration, sponsored by Douglas County Cancer Services Committee and Community Cancer Center, will begin at 12 p.m in the auditorium at the Roseburg VA Medical Center.

There will be a program and a light lunch will be served. All survivors will receive a gift and special awards will be given for special survivors. Four Badges of Courage will be awarded. All Cancer Survivors are encouraged to attend and bring a guest. The theme is Hawaiian so wear a muumuu or Hawaiian shirt.

<b>Roseburg Mothers of Preschoolers to meet</b>

Roseburg Mothers of Preschoolers, MOPS, meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 7 at Roseburg Christian Fellowship, 1376 N.E. Walnut Street in Roseburg.

This is the final meeting of the school year. The group will share a light luncheon buffet. All women with children from birth through kindergarten are welcome to attend. There is no fee.

<b>Native Plant Society plans orchid field trip</b>

The Umpqua Valley Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon will take a field trip Saturday to Lake of the Woods to see orchid species as well as non-chlorophyll plants. This trip is open to everyone. Interested persons will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse parking lot, 1036 S.E. Douglas Avenue to carpool or caravan. Bring water and a lunch.
