<b>BRIDGES, Mildred “Fern”</b> — Age 97, of North Carolina, passed away on June 22, 2005. Arrangements pending. SMITH-LUND-MILLS FUNERAL CHAPEL (541)942-0185.

<b>Agnes Loretta Everett</b>

EVERETT, Agnes Loretta — Age 84, a resident of Glendale, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005. She had been in ill health for awhile. Agnes was born in Middletown, Ohio, on July 23, 1920. She grew up in Ohio and lived in various places including New Mexico for a time and came to Myrtle Creek and Canyonville, Oregon, in the late 1940's. She was married to Albert Everett on August 27, 1962 in Carson City, Nevada. They moved to Riddle where they made their home for 35 years. In 1997, they moved to Glendale where they have been ever since. Loretta was a person who said what she meant and meant what she said. She is greatly loved by all. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Agnes is survived by her husband, Albert of Glendale; three daughters, Judy and her husband, Gordon Smith of Waldron, Arkansas; Mary Jo Able of Canyonville; Eve Erwin of Springfield, Oregon; three sons, Barry and his wife, Mindy Everett of Portland, Oregon; Jon and his wife, Nancy Everett of Myrtle Creek; Charles Everett of California; one sister, Mary Ellen Wells of Middletown; ten grandchildren; six great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and a granddaughter. No services are scheduled at this time. MOUNTAIN VIEW MEMORIAL CHAPEL in Myrtle Creek is assisting the family with cremation and private disposition.

<b>Frankie Mae Cole

COLE, Frankie Mae</b> — Age 85, a longtime resident of Drain, Oregon, passed away on June 19, 2005, at her home in Union, Maine, after a period of declining health. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 1 p.m., at the Drain Church of Christ, followed by a graveside service and a reception. She will be interred with her husband, Glenn Franklin Cole, who preceded her in death in 1990. Frankie Mae Cole was born in Independence, Oregon, on May 10, 1920. She was the youngest of the four children of Frank Lane and Mary (McNabb) Lane. Her siblings, Irene Lane Fowler, Harold Lane, and Nellie Lane Currie, all preceded her in death. The Lanes were Missouri pioneers, and the McNabbs had come to Missouri from Virginia and Tennessee. Both families are thought to be early settlers in this country, the McNabbs having arrived in the colonies late in the 18th century. Frankie met Glenn Franklin Cole while attending high school in Independence. They married in 1940 and Frankie began her career as a schoolteacher while Glenn worked as a logger in the California Red Woods and as a log rafter on the Willamette River. By 1947, they had produced three sons, Steven, Bradley, and Bruce. The following year, they moved to Drain, Oregon, where Frankie continued her teaching career and Glenn became the area's state forester. Frankie taught first grade in the Drain school system for more the 25 years. She was active in the Drain Church of Christ and the local Parent-Teachers Association. She was musically talented and was able to play the piano with, or without music. Frankie loved gardening, and family activities, including deer hunting where she could be seen on a stand with the families 30-30. She also loved to travel. After retirement, Frankie and Glenn traveled to the British Isles, the Holy Land and throughout North America. In 1988, Frankie suffered a severe stroke. She moved to the state of Maine in 2002 to be near her son, Bruce Cole, and his family. Frankie is survived by son, Steven F. Cole and his wife, Marie of Puyallup, Washington; son, Glen Bradley Cole and his wife, Dawn of Booney Lake, Washington; son, Bruce J. Cole and his wife, Ann of Rockport, Maine. She is survived by an extended family of grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Checks or money orders should be made payable to "National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke" or to "NINDS" with a letter stating that the money is to be used to support the mission of the NINDS. GANZINI, Bob</b> — A celebration of life will be held for Bob on June 26, 2005, from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., at Hill Place Banquet Center, 104C Hill Place, behind Ross in the Garden Valley Shopping Center.

<b>Bob Smith

SMITH, Robert Ray "Bob" </b>— Age 65, of Sutherlin, Oregon, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2005. He was born on June 8, 1940, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of William and Ruth (Atkins) Smith. He moved as a boy to Northern California and was raised and educated in the Eureka, California, area. Bob was a veteran and served our country while in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in San Diego, California, when he met Virginia Benson. They were united in marriage on April 10, 1959, in Long Beach, California. They moved to Oregon in 1971, settling in Canyonville. They later moved to the Roseburg, Oregon, area where they worked as residential managers for the Garden Valley Retirement Center. In 2003, they retired to Sutherlin. Bob and his wife were Christians and attended the Umpqua Valley Fellowship in Wilbur, Oregon, and the Sutherlin Christian Assembly Church. Mrs. Smith passed away May 13, 2005. Bob is survived by three sons, Gary and his wife, Susan of Bonney Lake, Washington; Wayne and his wife, Kaye of The Dalles, Oregon; and Steve and his wife, Lori of Mesa, Arizona. His grandchildren are Joshua, Johnathon, Rachel, Zachary, Summer, Gabriella and Alexa. He also leaves brothers, Charles, David and Danny Smith and Dale and Bob Welch as well as three sisters, Caroline Johnson, Alice Carter and Ernestine Garrett. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James York and Billy Smith. Private graveside services will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Sutherlin. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor's Family Chapel.
