WINCHESTER BAY: Two people were injured in unrelated all-terrain vehicle accidents in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area during the weekend.
Justin Lee Myers, 16, of Dufur was riding east of Third Beach parking lot when he lost control of his 1994 Honda at about 12:20 p.m. Saturday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
On Sunday, Sara Ann Vanderzanden, 29, of North Plains lost control of her 1989 Yamaha at about 11:25 a.m. It hit a bank and flipped, knocking her unconscious.
Both were transferred to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport, where they were treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
