<b>FUGATE, Roy Richard</b> — Age 57, of Sutherlin, Oregon, passed away on February 19, 2006. Arrangements pending. CHAPEL OF THE FIRS. (541) 459-2281.

<b>WHITTROCK, Wesley </b>— Age 84, of Camas Valley, Oregon, passed away on February 27, 2006. Arrangements pending. TAYLOR’S FAMILY CHAPEL (541) 679-6983.

<b>Charles Byers </b>

BYERS, Charles — Charles was born on February 11, 1926, in Tusquittee Township, Hayesville, North Carolina. He passed away on February 25, 2006, in Scottsburg, Oregon. His wife, Colleen “Connie” Cornwell Byers preceded him in death on February 25, 2001. He was the son of John Oscar Byers and Gurlie Ashe Byers; grandson of John Hicks Byers and Elizabeth Canzaidie (Zadie) Ledford; and grandson of Andy Monroe Ashe and Arie Stillwell Ashe. Charles grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina and was an avid hunter and fisherman from a young age. In later years, he moved his family to the Scottsburg, Oregon, area while he worked as an owner/operator/trucker hauling logs. He was a relentless salmon fisherman and spent a lot of time on the Umpqua River. Charlie and Connie loved hunting, camping and motor homing with family and friends. Survivors include two brothers, Farrell Byers of Walkertown, North Carolina; James Byers of Hayesville; three daughters, Jennifer Charlene Petersen of Vancouver, Washington; Charlotte Diane Oden of Bradenton, Florida; Vicki Lynn Cartwright of Eugene, Oregon (children of Betty Sue McClure Granstom); step-children, Candace Lane Clemo Weatherly of Elkton, Oregon; Christine Louise Baimbridge of Springfield; Charles Jon Clemo of Oakland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During WWII he served in the Navy as a Seaman First Class receiving the medal, American Area, Victory WWII, Asiatic Pacific Area, Philippines Liberation on the LST 997. He was honorably discharged on February 7, 1946. He passed away as an indirect result of cardiac problems and leukemia. Memorial services are on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Scottsburg Community Church in Scottsburg, Oregon, with Pastor Donnie Kruse officiating. A private burial service will follow.

<b>Winfred ‘Win’ Cautrell</b>

CAUTRELL, Winfred “Win” — Passed away on February 23, 2006. He was born on October 9, 1937. He is survived by his wife, Inez; daughters, Sue Markeson and son-in-law, Tom; Kay Labeck and son-in-law, Randy; grandchildren, Aaron Scott; Shane Labeck and Krista Labeck; two sisters, Lillian Zamora and Willie Dunn; one brother, Floyd Cautrell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Win lived in Roseburg, Oregon, from 1958 until 1985 and worked in the logging industry most of his life. The last 20 years of his life he was an owner operator trucker and lived in Washington and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Green Valley Cemetery in Sahuarita, Arizona.

Maneli May Henry</b>

HENRY, Maneli May — Age 32, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, in Eugene, Oregon. She was born on November 3, 1973, in Roseburg the daughter of Nancy Henry. Maneli grew up in Roseburg and went to Roseburg High School. She enjoyed being home, playing with her kids and watching movies. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Long and step-father, Jeff Long of Roseburg; grandmother, Cleatus Henry of Roseburg; sister, Cumi White; three children, Shelbey and Shakira Neifert and Dustin Hippler; uncle’s and aunt’s, Luke and Patty Milazzo; Larry and Jean Clark; and James Henry; and numerous nieces and cousins. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Taylor’s Family Chapel. Officiating will be Chaplain Karen Ione.

Larry Kenneth Jones </b>

JONES, Larry Kenneth — Age 63, passed away on February 25, 2006. He was born in South Bend, Washington, on March 1, 1942. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Jones; sister, Karen and her husband, Gary Meyers of Sheriden, Oregon; brother, Robin and his wife, Cathy Jones of Eugene, Oregon; daughters, Candy Jones of Roseburg; April and her husband, Craig Chaffin of Roseburg; Aleta and her husband, Mike Mattz of Cresent City, California; Joshua Weathers of Roseburg; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his special friends at the Tee Pee. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rebecca June Jones and Woodrow Lincoln Jones. There will be no services at his request.

Thomas Lucian Ignatius Llorens</b>

LLORENS, Thomas Lucian Ignatius — Age 75, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, passed away on February 22, 2006. He was born on July 31, 1930, in Nova Scotia, Canada, to Dr. Fernando and Mrs. Mildred Llorens. Mr. Llorens grew up in Nova Scotia and was in the Canadian Merchant Marines. He later moved to San Jose, California, where he was a member of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada Local #393 for over forty-five years. He moved to Oregon in 1991, where he resided in Bend before settling in Myrtle Creek. He was a member of the Myrtle Creek Elk’s Lodge #1943 for over ten years where he served as a trustee for the Lodge twice. He also was the Elk’s District Accident Prevention Officer. Mr. Llorens was also a brother in the Masonic Lodge. His Masonic affiliations included the Maple Lodge #127 in Myrtle Creek, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry - Valley of Roseburg, the Hillah Shriners of Medford, Oregon, and the Douglas County Shrine Club. He is survived by his longtime companion, Jean Cook of Myrtle Creek; son, Lorne Llorens of San Francisco, California; daughters, Laurita and Mike Padilla of Stockton, California; Debbie and Ric Bretschneider of San Jose; Carolyn and Tim Sinniger of Bend; sister, Dolores Lockhart of Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Annie Flores of Barstow, California; Teresa Flores and Lori Padilla of Stockton; Justin Bretschneider of San Jose; Meagan and Kelley Sinniger of Bend; great-grandchild, Madison Flores of Stockton. His hobbies included boating and fishing which he enjoyed with his children and grandchildren and traveling around the Northwest in his RV. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Portland Shriners Hospital, 3101 S.W. Allen Laurits Trunkey</b>

TRUNKEY, Allen Laurits — Age 62, of Winston, Oregon, fell asleep in Jesus on Saturday, February 25, 2006. He was born on September 26, 1943, in Kearney, Nebraska, to Roscoe and Mildred (Sorenson) Trunkey and was the oldest of six children. Allen is survived by his mother, Mildred; four brothers, Mike, David, Don and Leonard; one sister, Rhonda; his wife of 39 years, Bonnie; and three married children, Timothy, Ryan and Laura Williamson. He very much loved and enjoyed his four grandchildren, Bethany, Caleb, Eli and Allen John. He loved the simple pleasures in life. Allen enjoyed rock hounding and hiking in the woods to identify birds, mushrooms and wildflowers with his wife. He also loved camping, especially at the beach. Allen loved to debate and teach. He could fix anything that was broken and had a gift for mechanics. He loved people, had numerous friends and especially enjoyed the fellowship of his church family. The greatest passion in his life was his relationship to his Savior, Jesus. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served there as a medic. Allen fought cancer for two years and never lost his trust in Jesus. We are so blessed and thankful that he was a part of our lives. We will miss him but look forward to seeing him again on the resurrection morning. Graveside services will be held at the Cedar Hills Cemetery in Oakland, Oregon, on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Disney. The VFW District Twelve Honor Guard will offer military rites. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor’s Family Chapel.
