PORTLAND An Elkton woman who was injured in a March 18 car crash on Highway 138 near Tyee died in the hospital last week.
Christina V. Cetina, 43, was taken to a Portland hospital in critical condition after the Toyota 4Runner she was driving struck an oncoming pickup.
She died Thursday at Legacy Emanuel Hospital from complications from her injuries, said Oregon State Police Lt. Doug Ladd.
A passenger in Cetinas vehicle, William Lee Yeager, 43, of Kennewick, Wash., was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Cetinas 3-year-old son, Bryan Carrig, also a passenger, was taken to Mercy Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Ladd said the boy has since gone home with other family members. The driver of the pickup Cetinas vehicle struck was treated and released at the hospital after the crash.
Ladd said the accident is no longer under investigation because Cetina died. A blood draw at Mercy Medical Center, where Cetina was first taken, showed she had a blood alcohol level just below .08, the legal limit to drive. Ladd said it is likely Cetina had a .08 level at the time of the crash.
