Four Roseburg High softball players were honored this week when the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association announced its selections for the 4A all-state rosters.
Indians senior shortstop Ali Paz was a first-team pick for the second straight season after she helped guide Roseburg to its first Southern Oregon Conference championship in 19 years.
Sophomore teammate Mikayla Endicott was a second-team pitcher after going 17-1 and guiding the Tribe to the 4A quarterfinals.
Junior second baseman Brandi Campos was named to the third team and junior catcher Tanya Johnston earned honorable mention.
A number of local 3A softball standouts were also recognized this week by the OACA.
Junior pitcher Kaila Johnson was one of five South Umpqua players to be selected, earning second-team honors after leading the Lancers to the 3A semifinals.
Senior catcher Jonna Morgan was named to the third team, while sophomore infielder Katie Bumgarner, senior infielder Kristie Edwards and senior outfielder Carly Lebengood received honorable mention.
A pair of Douglas High players also made the cut. Junior infielder Cassie Bishop and junior utility player Kati Quimby represented the Trojans after guiding their team to the 3A state playoffs.
Sutherlin High senior second baseman Tiffany Rethwill rounded out the central Douglas County contingent, earning an honorable mention.
The OACA did not release selections for Class 2A/1A.
