WINCHESTER BAY: A Gold Hill woman remained in the hospital this morning after rolling the ATV she was driving in Winchester Bay Saturday evening.
Cheryl Cook, 47, was driving down a slight grade on the dunes and hit a clump of grass shortly after 6 p.m., according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Department. The 2003 Suzuki 400 ATV then rolled and Cook, who was wearing a helmet, complained of back and hip pain.
She was taken to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport. A hospital spokeswoman said Cook was in fair condition this morning.
