SUTHERLIN -- Memorial services for U.S. Army Pfc. Dean Robert Bright will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sutherlin High School, 500 E. Fourth Avenue.
His family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dean Bright Memorial Fund at any PremierWest Bank branch.
Bright, 32, of Sutherlin, was killed Oct. 4, while deployed with the 4th Infantry Division to Taji, Iraq.
He had received the Bronze Star Medal for valor in September after he risked his life saving another soldier during an attack in April.
Bright is the third Douglas County soldier killed in Iraq in the past two years.
