Winter fun begins its annual drip away

DIAMOND LAKE: The tubing hill is quiet until next winter. The snowmobile rental shop is closed. But a much-anticipated fishing season comes on the heels of winter-activity closures.

Diamond Lake Resort expects this summer’s fishing to be good with the stocking of 80,000 trout after last fall’s eradication of tui chub.

However, not all winter activity at the resort is yet lost.

Cat Ski Mt. Bailey has several more weeks of skiing left and snowmobile riders will find plenty of optimal terrain at Three Lake Snow Park.

The last vestiges of winter fun are expected to end sometime in May.
