WINSTON: Twenty-seven fifth- through eighth-graders will compete at the Douglas County Spelling Bee at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wildlife Safaris auditorium, 1790 Safari Road.
The winner will receive a computer and other prizes. Each speller will receive a trophy for making it to the county event. Students participated in classroom and school spelling bees to qualify.
They represent 22 public schools, two private schools and one home school.
