Glendale, CCA fare well in track meets



MONROE — Sarah Tallent of Glendale won the girls 400 (1:11.37) and 3,000 meters (12:48.17) in a five-way prep track and field meet Thursday.

The Canyonville Christian Academy boys won their meet with 99 points. Winning events for the Pilots were Brian Ha in the long jump (17-10), Brandon Min in the 300 hurdles (45.16), George Chang in the 100 (11.57) and 200 (24.49), Valerian Shinkyaruk in the 400 (54.81) and the 4x100 relay (46.49).

Michelle Bartholomew of Glendale won the girls pole vault (8-0). The CCA girls got wins from Kim Stalford in the javelin (98-1) and Sky Park in the 300 hurdles (57.48).

The Glendale boys, who finished second, got wins from Stephen Hallock in the shot put (41-3), Justin Burkhalter in the high jump (5-6), James Hays in the triple jump (36-8 1/2) and the 4x100 relay (3:55.16).

Oakridge, behind a pair of wins from sprinter Orie Gamez, won the girls meet with 133 1/2 points.
