The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department seeks a volunteer to represent quad riders and four-wheel drive drivers on the all-terrain vehicle account allocation committee.
The parks and recreation department is accepting applications until 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The committee, a seven-member advisory board appointed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission, advises the parks and recreation department on ATV program-grant dispersals.
Its members serve four-year terms and normally attend three public meetings per year and occasionally participate in workshops and tours.
Grants are provided to nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies to develop, maintain and acquire ATV recreation areas.
They also provide education, safety training, first-aid services and police support in recreation sites.
Grants are financed by ATV-permit sales and fuel-tax revenue attributed to off-highway vehicle use.
Information and application forms: (503) 986-0706.
