Steven R. Gordon
Age 29, a lifelong resident of Drain, Oregon, passed away August 27, 2007, after a car accident. He was born June 7, 1978, in Cottage Grove, Oregon, to Mark and Theresa Rice Gordon. He attended school in Yoncalla, Oregon. He received various high school athletic achievements. He worked as a truck driver for Wooley Equipment in Drain. He married Shyla Jeffers on June 16, 2004, in Eugene, Oregon. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and camping. He is survived by wife, Shyla Gordon; parents, Mark and step-mother, Helen Ray; mother, Theresa and step-father, Pat Madden; grandparents, Doc and Lora Blanchard and Louise Lowrey; daughter, Sativa Gordon; son, Trace Gordon and daughter, Shayla; brothers, Nathan Gordon and Travas Leroue; sisters, Heather Dewolf; Katie Gordon; Katie Madden and Amanda Madden. He was preceded in death by sister, Karen Gordon. He left behind loving family and friends who will love him forever. Steven was a loving husband and daddy. His broken hearted wife and children will always love him forever and his children will know all the great things about him. He always said I saved him from dying in a ditch. I guess I could only do it once which was a shame. Steven will forever be missed and good times will be remembered by all his family and friends. We thank all of you for your prayers and condolences during this rough times in our lives. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2007, at the Assembly of God Church in Drain. Smith-Lund Mills is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Age 64, of Roseburg, Oregon, was welcomed into Heaven Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at 10:25 p.m. She was born April 10, 1943, to Milan and Jennie Taylor in Buckley, Washington. Jackie worked as a restaurant manager and church secretary. She was a much loved women of faith who shared that love with all she met. She is survived by her sister, Miki Chauvin of Concord, California; son, Robert Eberhart of Roseburg; daughter, Donna Webb of Crescent City, California; daughter, Sheila Rankin of Roseburg; granddaughter, Theresa Webb of Roseburg; four other grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and nieces, Valria and Della Lopez of Washington. There will be a memorial service held Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Church on the Rise, 3500 Diamond Lake Boulevard, Roseburg.
Robert L. Beezley
Age 59, a longtime resident of Roseburg, Oregon and Myrtle Creek, Oregon, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007. Robert was born January 8, 1948, in Prescott, Arizona. Born to Robert Twiggs, deceased, of Butte, Montana and Lorene E. Bursik and step-father, Wayne A. Bursik of Roseburg and adopted son of William A. and LaWonda Beezley of Kingman, Arizona; surviving children, Michelle; Michael; Deva Marie; sisters, Julie M. Hadwen, deceased, Katherine A. Hadwen; Cynthia L. and husband, Thomas P. Nott; Patricia J. and husband, Bert E. Stevens, all of Roseburg; and 16 nephews and nieces. Memorial services will be held at Patricia Stevens home, 2156 Castle St. in Green, off Carnes Rd. Family and friends are invited Sunday, September 2, 2007, at 2 p.m. Mountain View Memorial Chapel is serving the family 541-863-3148.
Isidra A. Garcia
Age 73, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007, after a long and treacherous fight with diabetes and other illnesses. She was born August 31, 1934, to parents, Samuel Costales and Elvira Altamirano. She had three brothers and two sisters. One brother and one sister, preceded her in death. She loved to read the bible and listen to gospel. She enjoyed watching preachers on television. Her favorites were Morris Cerullo and Billy Graham. She loved her family very much. She was married in Riverside, California, to Margarito Garcia and lived there from 1966 until 1979. In 1992, she and her husband moved to Roseburg, Oregon. Together they raised three children, Allee Costales, Arthur Costales and Jeanette Sutt. Arthur passed away ten years ago after a battle with liver problems. Isidra is survived by her husband, Margarito Garcia; son, Allee Costales and wife, Jacqulene of Michigan; daughter, Jeanette Sutt of New York; grandchildren, Eddie Neil, Andrew Neil and Amanda Neil, all of New York; Brandie Saiz of Michigan; Rochelle Saiz of California; and one great-grandchild, Gavin Saiz. There will be a memorial service held for her on Saturday, September 1, 2007, at 3 p.m., at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Roseburg. Isidra wished to be cremated. Her ashes will be mixed with her sons and her husbands at a later date.
Katherine 'Kathy' Ueland
A longtime Lynnwood, Washington, resident, passed away August 27, 2007, in Kirkland, Washington, at the age of 69. Kathy graduated from Roseburg High School in 1955. She enjoyed arts and crafts, hiking, cross-country skiing, traveling, gardening, feeding her squirrels, rescuing animals and wildlife, and helping those in need. A member of First Baptist Church in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, she served as the church board secretary and was also involved with efforts to help the homeless. Kathy drove her 2007 bright red Mustang convertible for the Sassy Lassies Red Hat Society at the 2007 Mountlake Terrace Sea Fair Parade. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Thomas and husband, Fred of Weston, Oregon; Elizabeth Good and husband, Doug Nelson of Phoenix, Arizona; mother-in-law, Roberta E. Ueland of Federal Way, Washington; sisters, Gail Helman of Lookingglass, Oregon; Carolyn Hawely of Burien, Washington; Sharon Pearson and husband, George of Federal Way; grandchildren, Toran Good and wife, Michelle; Sarah Tripp and husband, Roy; William Thomas and wife, Kaylean; Jacob Thomas; great-grandchildren, Jameison; Nevaeh,; Kari Meri; Clay; Rachellynn; Tasha; four nieces, three nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Ueland in 2002. A celebration of Kathy's life will be held Saturday, September 1, 2007, at 1p.m., at First Baptist Church of Mountlake Terrace, 22800 W. 56th Ave., MLT. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m - 12 p.m . at the Chapel of Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd., Lynnwood, 425-672-1800. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northwest Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, 360-966-8845.
