Medford man hurt in motorcycle crash

TILLER: A Medford man was injured Tuesday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Tiller Trail Highway.

Jay McEwen, 49, was riding the 2007 Harley-Davidson east when he lost control on a curve around 11:40 a.m., causing the bike to hit the guard rail near Milepost 28, according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report.

The motorcycle slid along the rail for about 120 feet, leaving McEwen, who was wearing a helmet, with abrasions on his hands and abdomen and possibly broken ribs.

McEwen was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg after receiving treatment from members of the Tiller Rural Fire Protection District. His condition was not available this morning.
