Glides Brandon Belloir appears to have knocked away a pass intended for Riddles Brodie Goldbeck. However, Goldbeck caught the pass and ran for a 66-yard touchdown in the second period Friday night in Glide.

GLIDE -- What exactly did Brock Halter see the most when the Glide High running back carried the ball against the Riddle Irish?
"A whole lot of green grass," Halter said.
And not a lot of green uniforms, for that matter.
Halter returned a pair of punts for touchdowns, found the end zone four times and finished with 302 all-purpose yards, leading the Wildcats to a 48-7 non-league victory against overmatched Riddle on Friday.
"Brock's had two outstanding games in a row, and he did it all tonight," first-year Glide coach Jeff Freeman said. "Punt returns, catching the ball and running it, he just had an outstanding game."
The Glide senior finished with 185 return yards on four punt returns, had 66 yards and a TD on nine carries and caught two passes for 51 yards and a score. His heroics came on defense in the season opener against Glendale, as his 40-yard interception return for a touchdown gave the Wildcats a two-score lead over the Pirates in the second half.
So what made the difference on Friday?
"It feels good knowing there's a line in front of me that's going to block for me and open up the gaps so I can run," Halter said. "We need to use this as a stepping stone, keep driving off of this and build off our intensity here for next week."

The game was the first of three consecutive home games for Glide (2-0), which hosts one of Class 3A's elite teams in No. 3-ranked Cascade Christian of Jacksonville on Friday in their Sunset League opener.
"Our work ethic is starting to pay off," Freeman said. "We know we have a tough opponent next week, and ... we're just excited for the opportunity to play them."
Quarterback Kyle Fields finished 10-for-17 passing for 172 yrds and three touchdowns, including a pair of scoring passes of 6 and 14 yards to tight end Jeff Jackson. The Wildcats finished with 344 yards of total offense.
Riddle (0-2) played hard, but its young roster couldn't keep up with the bigger, more experienced kids from Glide. The Irish finished with 122 yards of offense, much of which came in the second half when the Wildcats held a five-touchdown lead.
"The thing that I love about our kids is they didn't quit," said Riddle coach Russell Hobson, whose team has more than half of its roster seeing their first varsity experience this season.
"As the game wore on, they won more defensive stands, got better at hitting and stepped their play up. This was a good game for us because we're going to go back into league (Mountain View Conference play) where we're facing teams with half the enrollment of Glide. That'll feel pretty good."
Halter's first punt return for a score -- a 70-yard scamper down the east sideline -- gave the Wildcats a 20-0 first-quarter lead with 5:15 on the clock. Riddle later recovered from a fumble Glide's Josh Husky scooped up and returned to Riddle's 9, forcing the Wildcats to turn the ball over on downs.
But Glide forced a three-and-out on Riddle's next possession, and a 30-yard punt return from Halter set Glide up on Riddle's 36. Five plays later, Halter scored on a 15-yard run for a 26-0 lead.
Riddle struck back, as quarterback Brock Goldbeck's floater to wide receiver and brother Brodie Goldbeck resulted in a 66-yard touchdown pass and a three-touchdown deficit for the Irish. But Joey Meil tackled Riddle running back Josh Pettengill in the Irish end zone for a safety, and Halter returned the ensuing punt from the 20-yard line 65 yards for a score and a 36-7 halftime lead after Fields' two-point run.
Riddle begins MVC play on Friday when it goes to Drain to play North Douglas.
