BONANZA -- Andrew Young's 48-yard touchdown reception from Nate Adams with 1:17 remaining capped Oakland's improbable rally from a 10-0 fourth-quarter deficit, and the unranked Oakers held on to stun fourth-ranked Bonanza 14-10 in non-league play Friday night.
Adams finished 11-for-26 passing for 217 yards and had 90 yards rushing on 21 carries, and his 4-yard touchdown run with 4:56 remaining put Oakland on the scoreboard. The Oakers (2-0) outgained last year's Class 2A state runner up 319-203 and won despite four turnovers.
"It was just a tremendous effort by our kids," said Oakland coach Dallas Amer. "They just never gave up, they never stopped battling. It was a matter of who wanted it more ... our offensive line hung in there and didn't back down."
Young had six catches for 136 yards to pace Oakland's receivers. Josh Gibson had 98 yards on nine carries to lead Bonanza, which took a 7-0 lead on Gibson's 78-yard TD run in the third quarter. Carson Mockridge added a 24-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to give the Antlers (1-1) a 10-point cushion.
Oakland opens Mountain View Conference play next Friday against another tough opponent, No. 2-ranked Monroe, on the road.

CAMAS VALLEY -- Six of the 11 Camas Valley players who suited up against Prospect scored and the Hornets held the Cougars to 33 yards total offense in their Skyline League victory.
Kurt Dever finished with 182 yards of total offense, including 137 rushing yards on eight carries and a 34-yard touchdown run. Dennis Wolfe ran for 109 yards and two scores, Ben Carter had a 20-yard TD run and a 19-yard touchdown reception and Chase Elliott added scoring jaunts of 4 and 15 yards.
Mason Cay's 22-yard TD reception from Elliott with 2:30 left in the first quarter gave the Hornets (2-0) a 28-0 first-quarter lead. Lineman Eli Fisher added a 1-yard TD run.
On defense, Cody Kievit, Wolfe and Elliott each had five tackles, with Wolfe and Elliott each recovering a fumble. The Hornets didn't allow a first down.
"Any time you come out and allow just 33 yards of offense, you're playing pretty solid," Hornets coach Eli Wolfe said. "The kids were just flying to the ball. I'm really proud of them."
Camas has a bye this week and continues league play Sept. 29 at Triad.
