Junior Rodeo mounts relief effort

The Douglas County Junior Rodeo has set up a fire-relief fund to send livestock and pet food to the fire-ravaged communities of Southern California.

Donated feed and supplies will be sent to Ramona, Calif., where it will be distributed by the Ramona Rodeo Committee.

Besides livestock and pet food, the committee will also accept buckets, animal crates and carriers, food dishes, feeders, stock tanks, and anything else a rancher or pet owner might find useful.

But don't wait to donate. The junior rodeo committee is delivering supplies Wednesday.

Donation drop-offs in are located at Kruse's Farm Market, 523 Melrose Road; Walts Towing & Radiator Shop, 2011 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd.; Fowler's Auto Body, 2675 N.E. Diamond Lake Blvd., all in Roseburg, and at the Canyonville Feed & Ranch Supply, 211 Leland Ave., Canyonville.

Monetary donations to the Douglas County Junior Rodeo fire-relief fund will also be accepted at any branch of Umpqua Bank.

Information: 672-1594 or 430-1545.
