GLIDE: Residents from Dixonville to Diamond Lake are invited to donate nonperishable foods or a gift for a drive organized by Boy Scout Troop 112.
Troop members will collect donations to deliver to households in need. Because of economic conditions, the number of recipients is expected to increase this year by 20 to 25 percent.
Through Dec. 17, donors can pick up tags at a community gift tree at the Illahee Restaurant on the North Umpqua Highway at Bar L Ranch Road in Glide. Tags will be marked for seniors or children, and donors may bring back age-appropriate, unwrapped gifts.
Nonperishable food items can be dropped off at the restaurant, or at the Forest Service offices in Glide and Toketee, Pacific Power in Toketee, the Glide Fire Department and various Glide churches.
Information: 677-0521.
