Age 94, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, with his loving family at his side. He was born February 12, 1914, in Oakland, Oregon, son of Walter and Etta (Dopp) Cook. He was raised and educated in Sutherlin, Oregon. On August 25, 1940, Othol was united in marriage to the love of his life, Violet Mae 'Dixie' Waddington in Yakima, Washington. He was a member of the Winston Seventh Day Adventist Church. Othol loved to work and was known as a very hard worker. He is survived by his wife, Dixie, of nearly 68 years; children, Harry Cook and his wife, Sandra of Winston, Oregon; Lynda Hardwick and her husband, David of Caldwell, Idaho; and Gayle Knauff and her husband, Roger of Grants Pass, Oregon; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elva and Leola. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at the Winston Seventh Day Adventist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Disney. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor's Family Chapel.
