CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) A former Corvallis police officer who once posed for pictures with women at a college lingerie party has pleaded guilty to misconduct in a plea bargain over charges he had an on-duty affair with an Oregon State student and lied about it to superiors.
The pleas Friday put 27-year-old Ryan Thayer on probation for two years and require 40 hours of community service. Four of six charges were dismissed and one was downgraded to a misdemeanor.
That case was unrelated to the party. Police say Thayer and another officer investigated a noise complaint and posed for photos that wound up on the online social networking site MySpace.com.
An internal investigation concluded the officers violated departmental policies.
He resigned in April 2006.
