Motorcycle crashes, injuring 2

A California man and his passenger were injured when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Interstate 5 near Roseburg.

John R. Horn, 56, and his passenger, 54-year-old Maria Horn, were on a black 2001 Harley Davidson northbound on I-5 when witnesses say he changed lanes, hit the abrupt center lane edge and crashed, according to a Oregon State Police news release.

The pair, both from El Segundo, was driving about 65 mph when the wreck occurred at 3:40 p.m. Thursday near Milepost 129. Both riders landed in a traffic lane, and both were wearing helmets.

John Horn was transported to Mercy Medical Center and remained in fair condition this morning, according to spokeswoman Kathleen Nickel. Maria Horn was also transported to Mercy where she was treated and released, Nickel said.
