The Oakland City Council will meet in a special open session Thursday morning to reconsider placing a new City Charter on the November ballot.
The special session begins at 10 a.m. at Oakland City Hall, 637 N.E. Locust St. The council will also take action on resolutions regarding the new, lower late fees for water and sewer utilities and fees for City Hall services.
The City Council decided at its Aug. 12 meeting to place the new City Charter on the November ballot, even though it could override an initiative on the ballot that would amend the current charter to require the council to fund a local police force.
