Police and Fire Logs



These logs are the highlights of initial emergency calls and reports to the Douglas County Dispatch Center. They do not represent all the incidents or their final outcomes.



POLICE LOG

Tuesday

Douglas County sheriff

7:40 a.m. — Someone tried to steal vegetables from a garden on the 400 block of Gazley Bridge Road in Canyonville.

10:04 a.m. — Tires slashed on three vehicles overnight on Gumwood Lane in Idleyld Park.

12:23 p.m. — Theft of boat on the 79000 block of Highway 101 in Gardiner.

6:10 p.m. — Juveniles throwing bricks at light and door of trailer on the 3000 block of Bourne Street in Green.

6:16 p.m. — Past criminal mischief to mailbox reported on the 800 block of North Pacific Highway in Tri City.



Reedsport Police

12:07 p.m. — Theft of services on the 1400 block of Highway 101.



Roseburg Police

7:57 a.m. — Criminal mischief to vehicle on the 1500 block of Todd Street.

8:12 a.m. — Vehicle stolen overnight from the 1500 block of Mill Street.

3:48 p.m. — Young children left unattended in vehicle on the 1000 block of Northeast Stephens Street.



ACCIDENTS

Tuesday

Douglas County sheriff

6:12 a.m. — Vehicle found on its side off Rice Creek Road in Winston. No one was around.

11:55 a.m. — Fatal logging accident near the 5000 block of South Umpqua Road in Tiller. Tiller Fire District and Medcom Ambulance were also on scene.

2:50 p.m. — A motorcycle and a car collided on North Bank Road near Sable Drive in Wilbur. Victims declined transport to the hospital. Douglas County Fire District No. 2 and Medcom ambulance also responded.

6:29 p.m. — Vehicle hit a stop sign at Brown Street and Reuben Road in Glendale. No injuries.



Oregon State Police

10:28 a.m. — A motorcycle rear-ended a dump truck on Highway 138 West near Milepost 3 near Elkton. No serious injuries. Elkton Rural Fire Protection District was also on scene.

4:08 p.m. — Vehicle went over the guardrail and down an embankment off Highway 42 on the top of Camas Mountain near Camas Valley. Camas Valley fire and Tenmile fire also responded.



Roseburg Police

7:13 a.m. — Bus accident on the 1300 block of Booth Avenue.

2:11 p.m. — Non-injury accident on the 1100 block of Northeast Stephens Street.



ARRESTS

The News-Review publishes the names of individuals who have been arrested on suspicion of at least one felony charge or three misdemeanors or a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges. There were no arrests meeting those guidelines today.



FIRE RUNS

Tuesday

Fair Oaks Fire

1 p.m. — Smoke showing from same house that caught fire on Friday on the 1900 block of Ridgewater Drive near Sutherlin. Fire suspicious.



Roseburg Fire

7:30 p.m. — Juveniles started fire on 1700 block of Lynnwood Drive. Nearby residents were able to help put the blaze out with hoses, and the juveniles were released to their parents.



Winston-Dillard

1:09 a.m. — Fire inside home on 100 block of Ford Street.



Glendale

1:55 p.m. — Half-acre grass fire on the 1100 block of Glendale Valley Road. Douglas Forest Protective Association also responded.
