BANDON — The Yoncalla football team was shut out 52-0against Bandon Saturday in a non-conference game.
Two Yoncalla starting lineman did not play due to food poisoning and four other starters were injured during the course of the game, Yoncalla head coach J.J. Mast said.
The Eagles contained the Tigers to six points in the first quarter. Yoncalla rushed for 58 yards on 32 carries, while Bandon gained 203 yards on 33 carries.
Yoncalla quarterback Colton Kingery went 2-for-4 for 38 yards. Heath Anson, who was injured early in the second quarter, rushed for 26 yards on seven carries.
“We ended up playing a a lot of freshmen and sophomores for two and a half quarters,” Mast said. “We came unprepared to play and they literally ended up hitting us right in the mouth.”
The Eagles (1-1 overall) open their Mountain View Conference season at Monroe next Friday.

COOS BAY — Marshfield’s junior varsity team steamrolled Oakland in a non-conference game at Pete Susick Stadium.
Ethan Sweeden had 15 carries for 70 yards and Cody Perry earned 66 rushing yards on five carries for the Oakers, who dropped to 0-2 overall.
Oakland visits Glendale next Friday in its MVC opener.
