The Roseburg High girls soccer team beat South Eugene 3-1 at Finlay Field to earn its first Southwest Conference victory since 2006 and first of this season.
The Indians last won an SWC match against Grants Pass in their regular-season finale two seasons ago.
Shae Yuma netted a goal in the 40th minute on an assist by Chelsie Heberling and again in the 57th minute on a breakaway set up by Hannah Russo. Haleigh Hendrix scored in the 45th minute on a cross pass by Brooke Strawn.
Madison Cling netted South Eugenes only goal in the 67th minute.

The Axemen played a girl short after receiving a red card in the 18th minute. The Indians outshot South Eugene 18-11 and 10-5 on goal.

EUGENE The Roseburg boys took their first Southwest Conference loss of the season after falling in overtime to South Eugene.
Aaron Funderburk netted a goal on an assist by Brady Sherriff in the 46th minute.
Colton Hubler tied things up in the 49th and the Axemen stole the show when they scored in the fifth minute of the first overtime.
The Indians, who had two more shots on goal (6-4) than South Eugene, had two chances to score in the second overtime, Roseburg head coach Kevin Hunt said.
Hunt added that Reid Martin and Aaron Oppeltz played well on defense.
It was one of those too bad somebodys gotta loss games, Hunt said.
Roseburg (6-2, 3-1 SWC) travels to South Medford Tuesday.

GLIDE The Wildcats roared past Rogue River in their first victory of the year behind sophomore striker Taylor Vians hat trick.
Senior sweeper Jesse Hopkins scored in the 10th minute on an assist by senior midfielder Jordan Pynch. Vian netted a goal in the 13th minute on a pass by junior striker Josiah Brown, who scored in the 20th minute on a penalty kick. Vian netted his other two goals in the 43rd minute on an assist by senior midfielder Tavin Morgan and in the 46th on a penalty kick.
Glide junior goalkeeper Josh Dyer recorded his first shutout of the season.
The Wildcats (1-3-1) travel to Gold Beach Tuesday.

UVC 1
CRESWELL Fueled by Julio Olveras hat trick, the sixth-ranked Creswell Bulldogs downed the Monarchs.
Michael Graham scored the Monarchs only goal in the 20th minute.
Olvera scored two goals in the second half. Juan Ayala scored Creswells other goal on a penalty kick in the 20th minute.
UVC (4-2 District 3) travels to Rogue River next Saturday for a league match.
