Why are you running for office: The direction the current City Council and city manager have pointed the city is reckless and irresponsible. The future of the fire department is uncertain, while the police department has unused police cruisers parked in front of the station. Dial-a-Ride is forced to solicit private donations to keep their doors open. The Sutherlin business community has declined over the last few years. And to top it all off, they re-hire the current city manager as an interim manager until a replacement can be found. It’s time to replace all of the City Council and hire a city manager that will act responsibly and take into account the citizens of the city.
