Eagles continue to soar

DRAIN — The Yoncalla Eagles won their 11th straight Mountain View Conference match without a loss Saturday, downing north county rival North Douglas 25-22, 25-27, 25-17, 25-14.

Hayley Reynolds led Yoncalla (13-1, 11-0 MVC) with 22 kills, 11 digs, four aces, four service point and eight blocks. Alexa Blanchfill had 11 kills and 14 digs, Kylar Ruiz recorded 17 digs, five aces and 11 service points, Amanda Thorp registered seven kills, 16 digs and six service points and Heather McDonald added eight aces, eight service points and 27 assists.

Elyssa Emel had 14 kills and seven blocks for North (6-5 MVC). Kaitlynn Rice finished with seven kills, 14 assists and 22 digs, while Rochelle Hescock chipped in 13 assists.

Indians fall to No. 1 Central Catholic

BEND — Roseburg lost to No. 1-ranked Central Catholic 25-19, 25-14 in Gold Bracket play at the Clearwater Classic.

Roseburg finished second in pool play by beating No. 8-ranked West Salem 25-19, 25-21, and Hermiston 25-12, 25-19. The Indians lost to third-ranked West Linn 25-17, 25-15.

Douglas second at own invitational

WINSTON — Douglas finished second at its invitational and the Roseburg junior varsity team took third Saturday.

The Trojans, seeded second after going 8-2 in six-team round-robin play, lost to No. 1-ranked Henley 25-12, 25-19. The Hornets finished 9-1, Coquille 4-6 and the Indians 4-6.

In the consolation final, the RHS JV team beat Coquille 25-21, 25-11.

Courtney Bush had 32 kills, 27 digs and eight stuff blocks and Alaina Findlay recorded four aces, 72 assists and 34 digs for Douglas. Stacia Blankenship notched 17 kills and 25 digs, Rachel Erickson registered 18 kills and three stuff blocks and Janna Shigley clocked in 12 assists, 16 kills and six stuff blocks.

The Trojans (18-7) travel to Brookings Tuesday.

Days Creek wins Triangle Lake tourney

BLACHLY — Days Creek won the Triangle Lake Tournament to improve to 19-2 this season. The Wolves lost the first game to McKenzie 25-17, but rallied to win 25-23 and 15-9 in the decisive game. Olivia Golemon had nine kills and three aces, K’Dean Ramos had 19 assists and Abiyah Watkins had seven kills against the Eagles.

Days Creek beat McKenzie, Triangle Lake and Mapleton in pool play before sweeping Mapleton 25-13, 25-5 in the semifinals.

For the tournament, Golemon had 25 kills and 10 aces, Watkins had 17 kills and 18 digs and Ramos had 51 assists.

Powers 25-25-21-25

CCA 17-17-25-13

CANYONVILLE — The Pilots dropped a four-game battle to Powers.

Nicole Bittner led the Cruisers with seven kills and Kristin Clauson made six kills.

Haley Patterson added 16 assists and six aces. Leah Huling recorded six kills, four aces and two blocks for CCA. Kim Stalford had five kills, Jessica Jocoy notched four kills and Emily Bates tallied three kills.
