Nov. 5, 1995 Second-ranked Roseburg completed an unbeaten Southern Oregon Conference season with a hard-earned 21-14 win over South Medford at Finlay Field.Jon Hall and Gary Vance had touchdown runs, and Tim Stewart caught a 24-yard scoring pass from Vance for the Indians. Joel Hardage had 71 yards rushing on 15 carries before leaving the contest early in the fourth quarter with a mild concussion and Brad Loomis contributed 54 yards on nine attempts. Defensive end Tim Dryden was in on four of the Tribes six sacks.
In Oakland, Gene Alexander finished with 143 yards rushing on 22 carries and scored four TDs as the Oakers routed Cascade Christian of Jacksonville 66-30 in a Big Fir League game at Eddy Field. Oakland got 133 yards rushing and a TD from Curtis Lemp and 112 yards and a score from Jeremy Young. The Oakers intercepted five passes, with Alexander picking off three and Richie Westlund two.
In Glendale, Eric Hayden completed 14 of 17 passes for 173 yards and three TDs to help the Pirates to a 44-16 Big Fir win over North Douglas. Jason Conaway ran for 123 yards, Myke Stricker caught two scoring passes and Doug GrosJacques caught four balls for 57 yards and a TD for Glendale. Gabe Horn passed for 156 yards and a TD for the Warriors.

Nov. 2, 1995 Third-ranked Centennial of Gresham, getting 12 kills from Jenny Kniss, defeated Roseburg 19-17, 15-9 in a Class 4A second-round state playoff match at Robertson Memorial Gym. Joslynn Gallop finished with nine blocks and six kills, and Angela Powell three kills for the Indians.
CROSS COUNTRY
Nov. 5, 1995 The Glide girls matched their best state meet performance in school history, finishing second behind Henley of Klamath Falls in the 3A championships at Lane Community College in Eugene. Breanne Santos was the top finisher for the Wildcats, taking 10th in 20:03.1 over 5,000 meters. Other scoring runners for Glide included Jessica Bunnell (22nd, 20:49.5), Lindsee Van Slyke (36th, 21:30.3), Anne Hopkins (40th, 21:38.1) and Kelli McManus (45th, 21:43.1). Freshman Amy Nickerson of Coquille (19:12.3) was the individual winner.

Nov. 2, 1995 Mitch Meyer and Reggie Alvey scored goals, and goalkeeper Scott Yturriaga made 17 saves for Douglas in a 2-0 win over Brookings in a District 3 playoff game in Winston.In Sutherlin, the Bulldogs downed Junction City 2-1 in a District 5 playoff game. Ryan Williams and Rocky Evans each netted goals, and Rory Collins made nine saves.
