Residents at a Highland Drive home were temporarily displaced when a fire started on the outside of their home Thursday evening, according to fire department personnel.
The Reedsport Fire Department responded to a call of a fire at 2688 Highland Drive at 11:43 p.m., Reedsport Fire Chief Tom V. Anderson said this morning.
When firefighers arrived, they found a fire had started at an exterior outlet to which a recreational vehicle had been plugged, he said. The fire scorched the siding, got into the wall and created smoke inside the house, Anderson said.
The house was ventilated for about 45 minutes and then the residents were allowed to re-enter it. No damage estimate was available this morning. No injuries were reported.
