CENTRAL POINT The Roseburg High boys basketball teams second-half scoring surge was not enough against Crater, whose 73 percent shooting on the night stymied the Indians during their 63-54 loss.
Powered by Bradley Seehawers 15-point second-half performance, Roseburg rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to come within five points in the fourth quarter of its season opener. But the Comets never cooled down, Roseburg coach Craig Stinnett said.
That wasnt a lack of defense, Stinnett said. It was just Crater hitting big shot after big shot. We finally played like we are capable of playing and clawed back into it in the second half.
Seehawer finished with 17 points and three steals in his debut for RHS. Manny Mendoza added 13 points and Brady Sherriff scored 10. Tim Robbins led Crater with 26 points.
