DRAIN The North Douglas High girls basketball team survived a late 3-point barrage from Umpqua Valley Christian in a 42-38 non-league win Thursday night.
The Warriors (4-1) limited their turnovers and got 14 points from Brittany Roady. Rochelle Hescock added 10 points and Kaitlynn Rice grabbed 11 rebounds.
Jorden Zerbach scored a game-high 15 points and hit two of the Monarchs six three-pointers. UVC (2-3) trailed by eight late in the fourth quarter before making a late run.

ROGUE RIVER Kyle Waits scored 32 points, including 22 in the second half as the North Medford junior varsity team rallied from a 23-8 deficit against Douglas in the first round of the Rogue River Holiday Classic.
Bryson Norton scored 14 points, Jason Tingle had 12 and David Guthrie added 11 for the Trojans (1-4), who played Chiloquin at 2 p.m. today.

Paul Hong recorded 13 points for CCA. Josh Napper scored 10 points, Colton Hanson registered 10 points and nine rebounds and Franco Moreno added eight points and seven rebounds for the Irish (1-4).

OAKLAND Tyler Fugate scored 18 points and Coleton Baker recorded 14 points and 14 rebounds as Oakland outlasted Class 3A Jefferson.
