Died on Sunday, December 21, 2008, at the age of 91. Fern was born on August 8,1917, in Nevada, Missouri, to Orpha and Clyde Dean. She was an only child. She graduated from Nevada High School. She married Frank Isaac, and they moved to Eugene, Oregon, where they raised three children, Theresa (Tess) Holloway of Beaverton Oregon; Marti Gilbert and her husband, Dave of Roseburg, Oregon, and Ronald Isaac and his wife, Judi of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was preceded by her parents and her loving husband, Frank. She participated in the Toastmistress Group for a while. She loved playing bridge with her friends. She was a member of OWGA (Oregon Womens' Golf Association) and loved playing golf at Eugene Country Club, where she and Frank were members. She worked part time at Pacific Savings and Loan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved traveling to warmer places like St. George, Utah, Arizona, and Florida during the winter. Fern moved to Riverview Terrace Retirement Home in Roseburg to be closer to her daughter, Marti, and her family. She especially loved the view from her balcony of the Umpqua River and the birds and animals near it. She made many friends at Riverview Terrace and enjoyed seeing
and talking to all of them. A special thanks to her dear friends, Lil Coke, whom she loved like a daughter and Walter Bass who was so kind .and loving to her. She enjoyed being with people and was always kind and thoughtful of others. She admitted that she loved to have coffee at a quiet table and just "people watch". She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild born this last November. Arrangements are being made by Musgrove Family Mortuary. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Eugene, Oregon, at Lane Memorial Gardens, 5300 W 11th Ave., 97402 541-343-1684
