Marijuana found in traffic stop

Police arrested two men and seized about six pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 Wednesday.

A senior trooper stopped a 2009 Dodge sedan for a traffic violation on Interstate 5 southbound near Azalea at about 1:10 p.m., according to an Oregon State Police press release.

An investigation, which included the use of a drug detection dog, led to the discovery of two suitcases in the trunk filled with the marijuana, which was packaged in Mason jars. Police estimated the drugs were worth about $12,000.

The driver, Dustin Lee Miller, 26, of Junction City and the passenger, Josh David Thomas Henderson, 33, of Portland, were lodged at the Douglas County Jail. They face charges of unlawful manufacture, possession and delivery of marijuana.
