These logs are the highlights of initial emergency calls and reports to the Douglas County Dispatch Center. They do not represent all the incidents or their final outcomes.

POLICE LOG

Wednesday

Douglas County sheriff

6:37 a.m. — Three cars broken into overnight on the 2800 block of Highway 138 West near Sutherlin.

10:48 a.m. — Theft on the 500 block of East Sixth Avenue in Riddle.

1:29 p.m. — Theft of two screen doors from a home on the 200 block of Loredo Drive in Melrose.

7:31 p.m. — Male detained at gunpoint after allegedly attempting to elude police in a vehicle in the Reuben Road area of Glendale.

Roseburg Police

8:04 a.m. — Two people stole two cases of beer and ran out the back of Rite Aid on the 400 block of Southeast Stephens Street.

9:31 a.m. — Theft of camera the previous night from store on the 1300 block of Garden Valley Boulevard.

1:11 p.m. — Criminal mischief to a fence on the 1600 block of Commercial Avenue.

Sutherlin Police

12:29 p.m. — Burglary and theft on the 600 block of Northeast St. John Street.

1:57 p.m. — Someone was passing fraudulent checks at a business on the 600 block of East Central Avenue.

Winston Police

1:11 a.m. — Domestic assault and harassment on the 200 block of Hart Street.

6:51 p.m. — Juveniles tearing up flower beds, breaking concrete blocks and throwing things around on the 1700 block of Winston Section Road.

ACCIDENTS

Wednesday

Douglas County sheriff

10:35 p.m. — A teenager was struck by a vehicle at Susan Street and Taylor Street in Tri City. The driver allegedly gave the boy $5, then left the scene. The boy was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, where he was to be treated and released.

Oregon State Police

2:55 p.m. — A vehicle went into the ditch after the driver fell asleep at the wheel on Interstate 5 southbound near Milepost 158 near Scotts Valley. Unknown injuries. North Douglas Fire & EMS on scene.

Roseburg Police

3:31 p.m. — Rear-end crash on the 700 block of Garden Valley Boulevard. No injuries reported. Roseburg Fire Department on scene.

ARRESTS

The News-Review publishes the names of individuals who have been arrested on suspicion of at least one felony charge or three misdemeanors or a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges.

Wednesday

Douglas County sheriff

Andrea Cimere Shaffer, 31, of Winston, on suspicion of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault and harassment.

James Edward Stanfill, 70, of Glendale, on suspicion of attempt to elude police, reckless driving and driving while suspended or revoked.

James Richard Stephens, 35, of Canyonville, on suspicion of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of unlawful sexual penetration.

Myrtle Creek Police

John Louis Steensland, 48, of Myrtle Creek, on suspicion of first-degree theft, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree trespass.

Roseburg Police

Garnet Anita Burdge, 40, of Roseburg, on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Travis Jordan Merrell, 19, of Roseburg, on suspicion of first-degree theft, first-degree forgery and identity theft.

Jonathan Eli Moore, 24, of Metz Hill, on suspicion of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

FIRE RUNS

Wednesday

Roseburg Fire

12:12 p.m. — Electrical problem at apartment complex on the 2700 block of Douglas Avenue.
