Passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Roseburg, Oregon, after an extended illness. Wayne was born March 25, 1929, in Greely, Colorado; he was the seventh of twelve children to Seymore and Mary Rickman Franks. He worked for the federal government and FAA as an electrician until his retirement. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Winston, Oregon. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and family unions. Wayne is survived by his wife, Dorothea of Roseburg; children, Kenneth Dee and Maureen Franks of LaGrande, Oregon; Wayne Eugene Franks of Yukon, Oklahoma; Verda Lynn McDonald of Carson City, Nevada; Donna Korte of Winston; Kathy Smith of Salem, Oregon; Ken and Terry Bush of Coquille, Oregon; Dennis and Lori Bush of Winston; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Franks. Memorial services will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Winston on Monday, April 20, 2009, at 1 p.m. Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to SDA Church in Winston.
