Police arrested a Winston man Sunday after he allegedly threw a rock through the front windshield of an officers patrol car in Roseburg.
The officer had parked at the Roseburg fire station on Rose Street and was inside when he looked out the window and saw the man throw the large rock at about 1:50 a.m., said Sgt. Aaron Dunbar, Roseburg Police Department spokesman.
The rock shattered the windshield and damaged the hood of the vehicle.
The officer began chasing the suspect, later identified as Timothy Gregory Sisk, 21, and used a Taser to detain him a short time later.
Sisk, who had allegedly taken the rock from the garden area of a nearby business, had a blood alcohol content of about .20 percent, Dunbar said. The mans motive is unclear.
Sisk was arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree theft and lodged at the Douglas County Jail.
Damage to the car was estimated at between $1,000 and $1,200.
