As a kickoff to the 2009 summer reading program, the Douglas County Library System will offer an adventure on the high seas.
“Set Sail!” with Curt Nelson of Slightly Illusional — an organization dedicated to literacy — will feature an hour of books, magic, puppets, storytelling, music and audience participation. The programs are free to attend and the dates and times are as follows:
On Wednesday, the program is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Yoncalla Branch Library, 4 p.m. at the Drain Branch Library and 7 p.m. at Winston's library.
On Friday, June 12, the program is set for 10 a.m. at the Oakland Branch Library and 1 p.m. at the Sutherlin Branch Library. Information about the Douglas County Library System's summer reading program and the dates and times for events and programs will be included in next week's Currents.
