UMPQUA SINGERS AND THE BIG HORN JAZZ BAND FINAL CONCERT — Don't miss the final concert of the season at 7:30 tonight at Jacoby Auditorium, Umpqua Community College, 1140 Umpqua College Road, Winchester. The ensemble will end the 2008-09 concert season under the baton of Jason Heald and perform jazz standards, popular favorites and original selections. $5 per person or $12 per family at the door. 440-4693.

“THE BOYS NEXT DOOR” — Catch opening weekend performances at 7:30 tonight and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Betty Long Unruh Theatre, 1614 W. Harvard Ave., Roseburg. Umpqua Actors Community Theatre presents a humorous and touching play about the lives of developmentally disabled young men who live in a communal residence. Directed by Ashley Dahl. ALTRUSA BOOK SALE — A book sale is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 643 S.E. Kane St., Roseburg. Approximately 12,000 adult reader level books, all genres available. Proceeds are used to purchase children's books and support Altrusa programs that encourage young readers. 672-2285.

FREE FISHING DAY — Catch a fish for free from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Herbert's Pond, one mile east of Canyonville on Tiller Trail Highway. No license is required; help with bait and boat fishing is available. Free hot dogs, chips and soda while supplies last. Fishers 16 or under are eligible for prizes.
