Police and Fire Logs: June 21, 2009



These logs are the highlights of initial emergency calls and reports to the Douglas County Dispatch Center. They do not represent all the incidents or their final outcomes.

POLICE LOG

Friday

Myrtle Creek Police

2:22 p.m. — Woman reported that several items were missing from a shed on her property at the 1100 block of N. Pacific Highway and she suspected a burglary.

4:13 p.m. — Man called to report that his mother was hanging out with the wrong crowd, has been intoxicated for four days and stole prescription medication.

Reedsport Police

7:38 a.m. — A man reported that a large amount of people were shooting between 50 to 100 rounds until 11 p.m. Thursday night at a campground on the 27000 block of Lower Smith River Road. One person was cited and released for contempt of court out of Baker County.

Roseburg Police

10:59 a.m. — Delivery person reported that a burglary took place at the 2800 block of Aviation Boulevard and that several things inside had been broken.

1:17 p.m. — Woman reported that a man who supposedly found her wallet had returned it without the money inside of it at the 1200 block of Overlook Avenue and was asking for a reward.

4:38 p.m. — Woman reported someone had stolen all her $2 bills and other collectable coins.

Winston Police

4:25 p.m. — An employee reported that a man who took a silver corkscrew, a hunting knife and sheath from a business on the 20 block of North Main Street had tried to sell the items to her. The man returned the items and no charges were pressed.

Saturday

Douglas County sheriff

2:10 a.m. — Woman called to report that her brother had been jumped near Rifle Range Road on Diamond Lake Boulevard on his way from Rumors to The Zoo. The man didn't know who his assailants were and refused medical attention.

10:10 a.m. — A man reported that a woman was stealing items from a storage garage. One woman was later taken into custody regarding this theft.

Roseburg Police

2:15 a.m. — A woman reported that her car was egged as she was driving near the 1300 block of Troost Street.

4:20 a.m. — Man reported that two juveniles, about 15 years old, were trying to break into his car on the 100 block of Pamela Court.

ACCIDENTS

Friday

Douglas County sheriff

8:26 a.m. — Woman called to say her husband was working on the roof and saw a vehicle roll over near the 5700 block of Lookingglass Road. No injuries were reported.

12:31 p.m. — A female ran a red light and hit a semitruck in the intersection of the Garden Valley Boulevard at the I-5 overpass. No injuries were reported.

Saturday

Douglas County sheriff

11:11 a.m. — A deer running across the road caused a five-vehicle accident on Interstate 5 near milepost 123. No injuries were reported.

11:20 a.m. — A woman was taken into custody after a right turn she made into another vehicle caused an accident at the 3000 block of Happy Valley Road.
