Of Glide, Oregon, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all passed away on July 12, 2009, at the age of 75. Loava was born in Cave Springs, Arkansas, May 15, 1934, to Boone and Anne Kinne and was their first born. Shortly after, the Kinnes moved to Southern California, where they lived until Loava was in high school when the family moved to Glide. Loava has been a Glide resident ever since. She met her beloved husband Floyd on the bank of the North Umpqua River while fishing with her dad and they were together from that time forward. They married on December 9, 1951, at the Assembly of God church in Roseburg, Oregon. They had three children, Debra Fields and Ronda Kooken of Roseburg and Tamie Flu of Madras, Oregon. Loava graduated from Glide High School in 1952 and the school was always a large part of her life. She worked at Glide Jr. High as a teacher's aide for 21 years. She served as PTA president, was active in booster club, cheerleading and square dance advisor, chaperoned many Jr. High dances, and attended countless choir performances. She served her community as an EMT for the Glide Fire Department for approximately twenty years. Loava was an outdoors person who thoroughly enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and loved it when she outdid everyone. Her hobbies included crafting and attending craft fairs and shopping at garage sales. She is survived by her husband, Floyd; one brother, Dan Kinne and one sister, Carol Swanson; her three daughters; two sons-in-law; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and lots of extended family. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009, at the North Umpqua Bible Fellowship in Glide. Potluck following. All are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glide Volunteer Fire Department would be appreciated.
