YONCALLA --The Elkton volleyball team bounced back from a third-game loss to down Yoncalla 25-14, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-21 Tuesday night at Duncan Court.
Hannah Parker had 10 kills, six blocks, seven aces and four digs, and Rachel Winslow and Christine Evoniuk both recorded 14 assists and six kills to lead Elkton. Elizabeth Dunas added 10 kills, two blocks and three digs.
Hayley Reynolds had 10 kills and Taylor Glenn added six kills to lead Yoncalla. Freshman libero Brandi Joslyn recorded 12 perfect passes from the back row, Eagles coach Bill Gauer said.
Douglas 25-25-25, Glide 23-12-23
WINSTON -- Taylor Bond and Jessica Case combined for 15 kills and 20 digs, helping the Trojans defeat the Wildcats in three games in the season opener for both clubs.
Janna Shigley had 16 assists, nine digs and two service aces, Penni Harrison eight digs and two aces, freshman Miranda Zanni 15 digs, and Ashley Alexander three kills and two stuff blocks for Douglas.
Glide got nine blocks from Kristy Russell, five kills from Allahna Hartwick, and 14 assists and four kills from Jessica Strader.
Oakland 25-26-25, Sutherlin 22-24-17
SUTHERLIN -- The Class 2A Oakers earned a sweep over the 4A Bulldogs.
Tessa Knight had six kills and 17 digs and Danielle Hults added 13 assists and 20 digs to lead the Bulldogs.
Days Creek 25-25-25, Glendale 17-18-15
DAYS CREEK -- The Class 1A Wolves made short work of the 2A Pirates, sweeping them in their season opener.
Senior Olivia Golemon recorded 17 digs and seven kills and Rachel Walters had six kills to lead Days Creek. Mishell Saucedo and Taylor Ellis both registered 10 assists for the Wolves.
Larissa Minnick paced Glendale with five kills.
Riddle 25-25-25, CCA 5-8-7
RIDDLE -- The Irish rolled to a three-game victory over the Pilots in the season opener.
Alex Rogers was 26-for-26 serving with 11 aces and five assists for Riddle. Ashley Yackamouih contributed four aces and four kills, and Taylor Riekeman five digs, three aces and three kills.
