The Douglas County Major Crimes Team is looking for a man and a truck in connection to a shooting incident that occurred in Azalea Thursday evening, according to a news release.The team continues to investigate the incident that took place at a residence on Azalea Glen Road, which has resulted in the death of one woman and the serious injury of a second.
Barbara Lea Tooley, 59, of Damascus, Ore., died at the scene. The survivor, Helen Berleta Long, 88, of Glendale, is being treated at an out-of-county medical facility and currently is in an intensive care unit.
The investigation currently includes a roadside interview of vehicular traffic, door-to-door contacts and a crime scene investigation, including the use of members of the Oregon State Police Crime Laboratory.
The Major Crimes Team is still looking to locate a white male, described to have a well-developed, dark-colored beard, which some witnesses have reported to possibly be a fake beard. The man is reported to be of average height and has a thin build.
The Major Crimes team is also attempting to locate a black, four-wheel-drive, single-cab Toyota pickup with a black canopy, believed to be a 1989 to 1993 model. The vehicle also could be a Toyota 4Runner. The vehicle was reported to have aftermarket mud terrain tires. It had been seen off the roadway, in the area of the victim's residence around the time of the shooting.
It is possible that the man with the beard is associated with the black pickup.

Two women were shot and one was killed in Azalea Thursday evening, according to a Douglas County Sheriff's Office news release.Authorities are searching for a person of interest in connection to the shooting.
On or about 7:25 p.m., someone called the 911 dispatch center and said that two people were shot in a residence on Azalea Glen Road, the release said.
Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and troopers from the Oregon State Police responded and found two people in the residence who were apparently shot.
Barbara Lea Tooley, 59, of Damascus, Ore., was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said. Helen Berleta Long, 88, of Glendale was transported to Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass, the release said.
According to a hospital spokesman, Long was stabilized at Three Rivers Hospital and then transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. She was listed in critical condition this morning, he said.
According to the news release, the Douglas County Major Crimes Team was activated and began an investigation into the incident. The team is following up on many leads, but no arrests have been made at this time.
The Major Crimes Team is looking for a person of interest. The person is described to be of average stature and has a beard. The person was last seen on foot in the area around the time of the shooting. The Major Crimes Team is asking anyone who has seen this person, or seen anyone who seemed suspicious, to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office tip line at 957-2099.
According to KPIC, rest areas on Interstate 5 near Milepost 81 were closed off after the shooting incident as the search for an alleged shooter continued.
At 6 this morning, a dispatcher with the Oregon State Police dispatch center said troopers were still “out there.”

Two women appear to have been shot, one fatally, in Glendale Thursday evening, according to 911 dispatch reports.Early this morning, a dispatcher at the 911 dispatch center said the Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be releasing a news release at 8 a.m. and would not answer any questions until then.
According to the dispatch reports, which The News-Review has not been able to verify, neighbors in the 6100 block of Azalea Glen Road called 911 dispatch at 7:25 p.m. to report two women at a neighboring residence had been shot.
The neighbors identified the women as an elderly female and her daughter, according to the dispatch log. They said the younger women appeared to be dead.
According to KPIC, law enforcement found one woman fatally shot and another elderly woman in critical condition. The elderly woman who lived in the house sustained serious gunshot wounds and was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass, KPIC reported.
According to the 911 dispatch log, one of the neighbors reportedly saw a man walk by on Azalea Glen toward Glendale about the time of the shooting. She said the man had on black pants, a baby blue sweatshirt hoodie and a beard.
Rest areas on Interstate 5 near Milepost 81 were closed off after the incident as the search for the alleged shooter continued, KPIC reported.
According to the dispatch log, by 10:13 p.m., Oregon State Police reported they had 14 troopers or detectives responding to the incident.
As of 6 a.m. this morning, a dispatcher with the Oregon State Police said troopers were still “out there.”
