Ruth Cleola Stanley



Ruth Cleola Stanley, wife of Brack Stanley, Jr., passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009, in Roseburg, Oregon. Ruth was born in Bonnerdale, Arkansas, and was married to Brack Jr. at her grandparent's home in Bonnerdale in 1950. She and Brack moved to Roseburg in 1958.

She is survived by her husband, Brack Jr; her three daughters and their husbands, Barbara Erickson and Ken of Salem, Oregon; Karon Chiavaras and Dave of Great Falls, Montana, and Dana Phillips and Fayton of Albany, Oregon. Her four grandchildren where the light of her life. They are Linnea Barrett and Neil of Saudi Arabia, Aurelia Erickson of Portland, Oregon; Lea Chiavaras Clark and Brett of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Andrew Chiavaras and Casi of Washington.

Ruth was one of James and Renna Wright's eight children. Her surviving sisters are Arlene Todd Nunes, California; Winifred Egleston, Arkansas, and Brooks Carpenter, Ohio. Ruth loved walking on the beach with Brack Jr. She was an avid reader and baked the best rolls and bread.

Funeral services will be held at Vine Street Baptist Church in Roseburg on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at 1 p.m., Pastor, Rick Hahn officiating. A short ceremony will follow at the Roseburg Memorial Gardens with a reception at the church afterwards. Public visitation will be at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, between Noon and 5 p.m.
