Norma June Latham Gates

Passed away to be with our Lord, peacefully in her own home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Norma was diagnosed with cancer in June and bravely fought this disease. She was born June 6, 1942, in California. Her family moved to Yoncalla, Oregon, in 1949, and has lived almost all of her adult life in Yoncalla. She has been active in the Yoncalla United Methodist Church her whole life, she also was a member of Eastern Star, and other service organizations. She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry "Weiner" Gates, and both of her parents, Felix and Pauline Latham. She is survived by her sister, Karolyn Ellis of Yoncalla; two daughters, Sarah Latham Elliott of Dewey, Arizona, and Katherine Thompson of Prescott Valley, Arizona. She has five grandchildren, and many, many nieces and nephews. She has a very large network of family and friends. Services will be Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Yoncalla United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m., all are welcome to come celebrate Norma's life. Taylor's Mortuary will be assisting with the services.
