ROGUE RIVER — Jacob Brint scored in the second minute and Mitchell Graham gave the Monarchs a cushion with six minutes left in the match as Umpqua Valley Christian downed Rogue River (5-10 District 3).
The Monarchs (12-2) finished second behind Creswell in the league race.
Goalkeeper Tyler Schultz recorded 10 saves, Walker Adams filled in for a sick Colton Claughton and Nic Schroeder also helped guide the defense, UVC head coach George Graham reported. Michael Everett helped sparked the Monarchs' offense.
UVC next plays in a playoff seeding match at River Forks Park on Friday.

CANYONVILLE — The Pilots took a pounding at home against District 3 champion Creswell (13-1). Canyonville Christian Academy (8-6), which finished fourth in the district race, will play in a league playoff match this week.
