Cleaning out his desk recently, Sgt. Aaron Dunbar stumbled across a past edition of The News-Review. “Police and fire may share new building,” the headline from 2006 read.
This week, the Roseburg Police Department officer was busy moving into that building, along with city firemen.
“I went, ‘Holy Cow, May of '06 — three years we've been planning,'” Dunbar said. “And now when it comes down to the move — the move is exciting, but the move is a lot of work.”
In three years, the Roseburg Public Safety Center has gone from a maybe to a reality. Its doors open to the public Monday.
